Move a Bit

ABOUT:

Move a Bit illustrates the quantum concept of entanglement and uses quantum data to influence the particles that react to the participants movements. This is a prototype for an installation that could be used to help teach people about quantum mechanics principles.

THE PROCESS:

Move a Bit was developed as part of a group project that was submitted as part of The New School and IBM’s 2022 Quantum Design Jam. Over the course of a week we received a crash course in quantum mechanic principals, brainstormed project ideas, and then build a prototype that was presented at the IBM headquarters in NYC.

QUANTUM DATA AND MOTION CAPTURE

Video Overview

This final video presentation outlines the process behind the creation of Move a Bit. While my group did not win, it was a huge learning process in tackling new subject matter, new software tools, as well as creating a functional prototype in such a short period of time.
